About the Reformer Fit Club Institute
Reformer Fit Club Institute offers a comprehensive pathway for those ready to become skilled, confident Pilates instructors. Our teacher training program is designed to meet nationally recognized standards and reflects the depth, precision, and integrity expected in today’s Pilates industry.
Through a structured and immersive curriculum, trainees develop a strong understanding of movement fundamentals, exercise technique, and real-world application. By the end of the program, graduates are equipped to lead safe, effective, and results-driven Reformer Pilates sessions with confidence.
Program Structure & Learning Experience
Our training is divided into key components that work together to build both knowledge and hands-on teaching experience.
In-Studio Education (Lecture Hours)
Lecture sessions take place in-studio, where trainees learn directly on the equipment in a focused, hands-on environment. The studio setup may shift to highlight specific apparatus, allowing for deeper exploration of each movement.
To maximize learning, trainees may receive assignments or guided review between sessions. Revisiting material before the next training day is strongly encouraged to reinforce understanding.
Working closely with experienced instructors provides invaluable insight beyond the written curriculum. While the program teaches foundational exercise principles, instructors also share real-world teaching methods, studio-specific language, and variations in cueing and breathwork—reflecting how Pilates is applied in practice.
Personal Practice
Personal practice is essential to developing body awareness and movement confidence. These hours include group classes, private sessions, and independent workouts.
Trainees begin logging practice hours after starting the corresponding module. For example, Reformer practice hours can begin once Reformer training has started.
Consistent practice allows students to embody the work—not just understand it.
Observation
Observation hours give trainees the opportunity to learn by watching experienced instructors in action.
Students should observe sessions that align with the modules they have completed. This ensures the material being observed is relevant and understood.
All observations require permission from both the instructor and the client. Maintaining a respectful and professional environment is essential, as clients’ comfort and privacy always come first.
In some cases, approved video content may be used to supplement observation hours.
Practice Teaching
Teaching begins early in the program and evolves over time.
Trainees will start by guiding exercises within the group during training sessions. As confidence builds, this progresses into co-teaching opportunities, where students collaborate to lead classes under instructor supervision.
This approach helps trainees refine their voice, develop teaching presence, and gain confidence in a supportive environment.
Assistant Teaching & Apprenticeship Hours
Assistant Teaching provides trainees with the opportunity to begin developing their instructional skills in a supported environment. During this phase, trainees will teach alongside the Lead Trainer, guiding small portions of the class while receiving real-time feedback and mentorship. This allows for a gradual and confident transition into teaching.
Apprenticeship Hours are designed to give trainees hands-on, independent teaching experience. During this stage, trainees will lead full classes on their own with actual studio members, applying their knowledge in a real-world setting while continuing to build confidence, presence, and teaching style.
